At Walsall Wood, we recognise that the personal development of pupils spiritually, morally, socially and culturally plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve.

We therefore aim to provide an education packed with opportunities to:

  • explore and develop their own values, beliefs and spiritual awareness;
  • exhibit high standards of behaviour;
  • create a positive caring attitude towards other people;
  • develop an understanding of their social and cultural traditions;
  • appreciate the diversity and richness of other cultures.

This is embedded throughout all aspects of school life as well as Religious Education, PSHE and special events like International week and our many school performances.

Our musical artist of the week, played through the school from our radio station, helps pupils to appreciate a wide range of musical genres and expose them to artists that they may otherwise never hear.

Our artist of the month display introduces our children to well known painters, illustrators and sculptors therefore developing not only their knowledge but their artistic appreciation.
