Critical Workers letter

Last night the government released a list of ‘critical workers’. School will remain open for children of critical workers so that they can continue to play their key roles in the community.

We now know that critical workers are people who work in:

  • Health and social care
  • Education and Childcare
  • Key Public services
  • Local and National Government
  • Food and other necessary goods
  • Public Safety and National Security
  • Transport
  • Utilities, Communication and financial services

A full list is available at

‘Vulnerable’ children are those who:

  • Have a current or pending Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Have an allocated Social Worker
  • Are Looked after children (LAC)
  • Are working with the Local Authority Early Help Team

If you fall into one of the above categories and you DO NOT have any other childcare during the school closure then we need you to send an email to  by 1pm today.

Please include your name, occupation and job role or the category your child falls into, your child(ren’s) names and their year groups in the email. Also we ask if you let us know if you require child care to 5pm. This will be dependent upon numbers and the ability to staff the provision.

In order to protect all of our children and ensure we follow Government guidelines on delaying the spread of the Covid-19 virus we are limited to the number of places we will be able to offer. Please only reply if you have NO OTHER available childcare for your child(ren).

If the number of requests exceeds our limit, we will have to prioritise the children and families who are offered the places, with NHS staff taking priority.

We will be in touch with everyone who sends an email before the end of today so you can all be secure in your childcare arrangements for Monday morning.

We are hoping to have further information for our families who are in receipt of Free School meals later today, again this will sent to you as soon as we receive it.

As always, we thank you for your support and understanding during these difficult times.

Please take care of yourselves.
