Safer Internet Day 2026

On Tuesday 10th February, Walsall Wood School joined schools across the globe to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2026.

This year, the theme was: “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.” Our pupils explored how to use technology safely and responsibly, with a focus on understanding and navigating the world of artificial intelligence.

Safer Internet Day is an international campaign that promotes the safe and responsible use of technology. It brings together young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, and policymakers to help create a safer and better online environment.

At Walsall Wood School, celebrating Safer Internet Day gave us the perfect opportunity to reinforce the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year. Our Digital Leaders worked alongside staff to engage pupils in learning about safe online behaviour, encouraging them to make smart choices while using technology.

The day helped our pupils reflect on how to protect themselves and others online, understand potential risks, and recognise the importance of responsible digital behaviour.
