Zebra Crossing

Our School Council had a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the safety of our school community by gathering pupil voice about a proposed new zebra crossing outside school.

Council members spoke to children across the school to find out their views and understand how a crossing near our Brownhills entrance could help pupils and families feel safer when arriving at and leaving school. Their findings were then shared with the Local Authority as part of the consultation.

We are delighted that the new zebra crossing has now been installed next to our Brownhills entrance! It is fantastic for our children to see that their voices matter and that they can play an active role in bringing about positive change within their local community.

A huge well done to our School Council and everyone who shared their views. This is a brilliant example of pupil leadership, democracy and active citizenship in action, as well as our values of Community, Respect and Ambition making a real difference beyond the school gates.
