World Cup fever came to Walsall Wood as our children took part in a fantastic World Cup-themed intra-school competition!
Children competed against their peers in small teams, taking part in a tournament-style competition within their year groups. There was plenty of excitement and some brilliant performances, but what impressed us most was the wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship shown throughout.
The competition was another great opportunity for children to develop their confidence, resilience and ability to work as part of a team. They encouraged one another, showed respect for their opponents and demonstrated our strong sense of community, whether they won, lost or drew.
The winning teams were presented with medals and had the special opportunity to raise our replica World Cup trophy! A fantastic experience for everyone involved and a brilliant celebration of sport at Walsall Wood.
Again so many pupils attended the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus to be presented with their Silver and Gold awards- this was a really special occasion for everyone involved.
The children had the opportunity to experience what it is like to graduate – complete with caps, gowns and plenty of smiles! These awards recognise the fantastic dedication our children have shown by attending after-school clubs and building up their Children’s University hours throughout the year.
We are incredibly proud of the commitment and enthusiasm they have shown. Their achievements also reflect our values of Community and Ambition, with children embracing opportunities, trying new experiences and committing their own time to learning beyond the classroom.
