• Anti-Bullying Week- Odd Socks Day

  Anti-bullying week - Monday 10^th to Friday 14^th November – began with our annual event, Odd Socks Day.

   

  On this day we donate essential funds to the Anti-bullying alliance so that they can continue the great work they do throughout schools. 

   

  Our children see this day as a chance to express themselves, uniquely and individually. Wearing colourful odd socks, we are celebrating that difference is something to be proud of! 

  

• Mayor Harrison presents our A*Stars Gold Award

  We’re delighted to share that our A*Stars team have been awarded the Gold Award for last year’s outstanding participation in promoting active and safe travel.

   

  The award was proudly presented by Mayor Harrison- well done to everyone involved!

  

• Harvest Assembly 2025

  We had a full house for both our EYFS/KS1 and KS2 Harvest Assemblies this year!

   

  Thank you to everyone that was able to join us for our morning of celebration. Children from across the school presented songs, poems, art work and prayers as we took time to think about the importance of sharing what we have.

   

  Our wonderful School Mayor, Charlotte, led the assembly confidently, and we were especially pleased to have Deacon Helen from Ablewell Food Bank with us to explain what happens to all of the generous donations.

   

  Again this year your generosity was wonderful and our hall was filled with your donations that will go to support those in need in our community.

  

• Autumn Census Day 2025

  On Census Day (Thursday 2nd October), we celebrated the occasion with a special autumn-themed menu.

   

  Our cook prepared a delicious selection featuring Cosy Cottage Pie, Cosy Quorn Cottage Pie, vegetables, and jacket potatoes, followed by Treacle Syrup Sponge Cake or Vanilla Cupcakes served with warm custard for dessert.

   

  The children thoroughly enjoyed their meals and had a lovely time dining together in our beautifully decorated hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported our Census Day celebration!

  

• Macmillan Coffee Morning 2025

  On Friday 26th September, we held our annual coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Our School Councillors and RRSA Ambassadors led class assemblies to share key information about this important event and to raise awareness of the amazing work Macmillan does.

   

  Thank you to everyone who supported the morning with your cake or cash donations — together we raised over £400 for this wonderful charity. Your generosity and kindness are greatly appreciated!

  

• Intra-Sport Competition

  We held our Intra-Sport Competition at Oak Park on Monday 14th July, where the children had a fantastic time taking part in a range of football, rugby, and hockey activities.

   

  Pupils competed alongside members of their house teams, earning valuable points that contributed to the overall house totals for the year. The event was filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of friendly competition!

   

  We were especially proud of the wonderful sportsmanship shown by all our pupils throughout the day - a true celebration of effort, teamwork, and school spirit!

  

• Children's University Graduation

  So many of our children attended this year’s Children’s University Graduation to celebrate achieving their Silver and Gold Awards. The event took place at Wolverhampton University’s Walsall Campus and was a truly special occasion.

   

  It was a fabulous event, giving the children the chance to experience what it’s really like to graduate — complete with caps, gowns, and plenty of smiles!

   

  We are incredibly proud of all our children for their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm. Congratulations to everyone who graduated this year!

  

• Summer Census Day

  On Thursday 15th May, we celebrated with a special themed menu for our Summer Census Day. The children enjoyed trying our taco-themed lunch, and we’d like to thank everyone who joined in and ordered a school meal on this day!

   

  Our exciting menu included:

  • Crunchy taco shells with chicken and Quorn fillings

  • Loaded jacket potatoes with a variety of delicious toppings

  • Dips and tortilla chips

  For dessert, we marked National Chocolate Chip Day with chocolate chip cupcakes, served with squash or water.

   

  The children had a fantastic time enjoying their tasty lunch together — thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

  

• VE Day Celebration

  As part of our ongoing work to learn about and commemorate important historical events, we held a special celebration to mark the anniversary of VE Day. The day was filled with joy, reflection, and community spirit as we remembered the end of World War II in Europe and the importance of peace.

  We enjoyed a delicious fish and chip lunch outside, followed by a wonderful afternoon of activities in the sunshine. Everyone took part enthusiastically, learning about the significance of the day while celebrating together.

  Thank you to everyone who helped make our VE Day celebration such a memorable and meaningful occasion!

  

• Fundraising for the British Heart Foundation

  As part of our continuing work to develop our roles as Global Citizens, we held a 'Pyjama Day' to raise money for the British Heart Foundation - a charity suggested by one of our parents who filled in our Rights Respecting Parent/Carer Questionnaire last year.   Thank you to everyone for making our Pyjama Day such an amazing day- everyone thoroughly enjoyed raising money on this special day and we thank you for your generousity. We raised a total of £140!
